Malulu Could Still be a Force to Reckon in Malava Politics
Without fear or favor let’s not pretend that Malava politics is driven by ideology, philosophy, ideas … Pure greed, clanism and tribalism reigns… Even American politics runs on Hispanics, Mexicans, African Americans, Jews etc.
Politics is all about interests and sharing of resources. The county/constituency/ward boundaries demarcate how this distribution is done. The people in Malava belong to some clan and ethnic group…….
I compare Malulu’s politics with my studies in business finance-customer loyalty and retention. This is Malulu’s ball game of playing with numbers: He will rely so much on his loyal voter’s and seek to retain others who might be in limbo of voting him back.
Malulu injendi comes from one of the largest clans in Malava. The only thing that he needs to do is to ensure that everyone from his clan is a registered voter and on election day each one of them is provided with free breakfast to have the strength to go and vote for him which is soo much fair in a political competition.
Being an incumbent politician, he has a higher leverage since he has touched the lives of some families in at least every ward either financially or emotionally during funerals, harambe donations in schools, churches and other related activities. This cannot be taken for granted as this voters will remain loyal and could turn out to be votes for him.
Further to this, at this time and age financial muscle is key to one winning elections in Malava. Considering the way voters are financially incapacitated in Malava, they will cling to anyone who can boost them financially even for a short while. Malulu has the financial muscle to boost the electorates and his foot soldiers on the ground to blow his trumpet. He will also capitalize on holding harambe’s in every corner and capture some votes from his opponents backyard.
Another advantage that Malulu has is- most of the remaining votes will be split up between his opponents being an easy win for him. I call it a ‘Slam dunk’ and he will be home and drive.
A lot of allegations have been levelled against him but all that will come to pass and be washed away if he strategically targets and implements the ailing projects in the Malava constituency within the remaining electioneering period.
Another strategy that Malulu Injendi uses is: visiting people in their homes; participating in ploughing and harvesting activities with electorates. He also has a way with boda boda people which portrays him as a commoner to the normal mwanainchi.
Well for the other competitors they have a elephant task to take this man Malulu down unless they form an alliance to combine their votes it’s going to be a daunting task. They need to have their foot soldiers tramp their feet harder in every corner of the wards in order to effectively market their favourite candidates. They should equally have a strong campaign strategy of ensuring that their loyal voters are registered in their own strong holds.
“Remember money can buy loyalty even in your own home”
“Don’t hate the player hate the game”
